SCC Forth and Clyde Centre

SCC Forth & Clyde Centre

Message from CAMC

Dear all,

Last night’s announcement by the UK Prime Minister confirmed another national lockdown for England. This was preceded by the Welsh and Scottish governments announcing the same restrictions to their nations.

Unfortunately this means that all Centre rallies and events are not permitted for the foreseeable future and we do not currently have a time scale as to when this may end. The Club sites will remain closed during this time too.

I think this lockdown will be a difficult period for many of us and comes at possibly the most miserable time of the year. We have all had a difficult and unusual Christmas time, and before that an even more challenging 2020, and I am sure that many of you are starting to feel a little dismayed about the immediate future. Please remember that we are all in this together!

If you are able to make use of social media to keep in touch with your members, or arrange virtual get togethers I am sure that many will appreciate it...a virtual quiz night, a virtual rally, or even, as one Centre offered, a virtual dinner and dance! If any of you are organising these types of events, we would love to hear about them - please email with the virtual event that you held and any photos or screenshots (please ensure that you have the permission of all attendees to do this) and I will see if something can be featured by the social media team or the Club magazine, and definitely in the next Governance newsletter.

Please communicate to your Centre members and fellow ralliers that we will notify you as soon as we can about any easing of the current restrictions.

Kind Regards

Rebecca Newman

Just a quick post to let you all know the Irish National has now been cancelled.

Hi Folks,

Just to let you know that due to the on going covid situation I have made the decision to cancel Forth and Clyde's annual Dinner Dance. It's very unfortunate that I have to do this but I feel that we all need to stay safe at this present time.

It is with regret, though probably not unexpected, the Committee of 'The Forth and Clyde Centre' have decided in line with guidance from Scottish Division and CAMC Governance around COVID 19, to cancel all remaining Rallies this year including the AGM rally. It is likely that our AGM will also be postponed until the beginning of February 2021, (also within Scottish Division & CAMC guidelines). Please look out for further information being posted on our website and social media platforms.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

Like Robert and I, I am sure you all will be missing your caravan/motorhome weekends, but hopefully soon we will be able to rally once again meeting up with old and new friends.

As you will all know Forth and Clyde is the newest centre in Scotland and in its fledging year. It has been hit by covid19 and its turned out to be a very difficult start, trying to launch our new centre, with its rally programme decimated and only our 1st rally run to date.

At present I am working towards promoting our centre through SCC website plus our own Facebook/Website pages which are on social media. This has been difficult under the present circumstances.

Our A.G.M rally at Linwater C.P still has not been cancelled like wise Lagganbeg and also our New Year rally at Peebles, for information see your handbook.

I will continue to monitor this situation in accordance with advice from CAMC Governance and our Scottish Government.

As I mentioned before our A.G.M will be on the 5th September 2020 and if anyone is interested in joining the committee please contact me direct, my number is in the handbook. All Nominations have to be in to the Forth and Clyde Secretary by 2pm Saturday the 22nd August 2020.

I hope this situation continues to improve and we will manage to get away in our caravans/motorhomes for a well deserved break.

Please, everyone look after yourselves and stay safe. Robert and I hope to meet up with you very soon.

Best Wishes to you all.

Val Brownlee : Chairman - Forth & Clyde Centre.

Hi everyone

It is with deep regret, that due to the current situation the Marshals have had to take the decision to cancel the Forth and Clyde Tarbrax Rally.
It would not be possible to conform to the government Guidelines.

Hopefully, you are all keeping well and please stay safe.

The Scottish Caravan Club

75th Celebration Rally

25th - 30th June 2020

As you will have probably have heard, the Club have taken the decision to cancel the CAMC National Rally and have advised that social events e.g. Dinner Dances or any other form of social gatherings should be cancelled.

It will therefore probably come as no surprise to you, to hear that the Scottish Caravan Club, took the difficult decision to CANCEL the 75th Celebration Rally due to be held at Cultybraggan between 25th – 30th June 2020. We regret having to take this action, but the safety and wellbeing of our members has to be our primary concern and judging by the amount of Centre Rallies being cancelled, this viewpoint is being echoed by all Scottish Centres.

Closure of all UK Caravan and Motorhome Club Sites: Posted 22 March 2020

To help ensure Government advice on social distancing is followed, the Club will be closing its UK sites network today - Sunday 22 March 2020.

This will include the Certificated Locations network. We are in the process of advising all CL’s to this effect.

All UK sites and CLs will remain closed until 30 June 2020.

The safety and wellbeing of our members, local communities, guests and staff is of paramount importance to us and we feel this move supports the recommendations issued by the Government.

If you are currently on one our sites, please contact the site staff who will advise you on how and when you need to leave the site. Please ensure you maintain social distancing at all times, in line with Government guidelines.

If you have an imminent booking please do not travel to site. We will issue updates on a regular basis so please check our website

We will be in contact with members who have imminent bookings.

We thank you for your patience and support during these challenging times.

Stay safe and well.

The National at Belvoir Castle has been cancelled.

Statement from the Caravan and Motorhome Club

Dear Member

Following recent Government advice regarding the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, we’re really sorry to confirm the National, at Belvoir Castle, will not be going ahead this year.

This decision has been taken following the Government’s announcement to implement increased social distancing, avoid large crowds gathering and to ensure we don’t put further strain on the emergency services.
We know the National is held dear by Club members, volunteers and staff alike, but the safety and wellbeing of our members, volunteers and staff is of paramount importance, so I’m sure you will support this announcement.

We would ask that you don’t call us while we are working through the process of managing the cancellation of the event, we will begin issuing full refunds as soon as possible. Please bear with us, this may take up to 28 days to complete.

This decision has not been taken lightly, we appreciate your support and understanding during these difficult times.

With best wishes
Nick Lomas
Director General
